Is It Possible for a Female-Bodied Person to Qualify for Top Surgery Without Identifying as Male?
I’m a female-bodied person, I don’t identify as male, most of the time I’m just happy identifying as a butch woman. However I really really want top surgery. I really don’t want to bind for the rest of my life and I can’t stand having breasts. Never could. Even though I’m not FTM, would it still be possible for me to get top surgery? Would I have to see a gender therapist or would any therapist do? I know a letter is needed.
I’m in Canada if this makes any difference.
i suppose that’s possible…but, yes…i’d think any reputable surgeon would want to be fully satisfied that you knew what you were asking for and are stable enough to make the decision. i’m sure having the support of a licensed therapist would be of benefit..
much love and hope. pj
see a doctor and ask
McLean seems to be the go-to surgeon in Canada for top surgery without a letter:

Best of luck!
There’s no harm in going to see a doctor for an estimate and getting information.
Personally, I can’t see why you wouldn’t be able to since you don’t need to see a gender therapist to get a breast reduction.
But if you’re looking to get a little more then just a breast reduction, the outcome is still a little shady. Best thing to do is to get your information first hand.
yes lots of lesbians get their booobies lopped off, its all part of the "punish the men for wanting women by chopping off the attractive part of the women" thing. I don;t claim to understand it, but it happens.
