I'm Confused About About Transsexual Women and Porn Actors?
A lot of the time i see some of the transsexual women in this section saying that the women who work in porn as pre op transsexual women do not really suffer with transsexualism and that they are only gay males who have feminised themselves with illegal female hormones and breast implants.
I’m confused by this because how do you know they are feminised gay males and not transsexual women? Not all transsexual women have lower surgery or even want lower surgery. Surely that operation is dependent on how bad your gender dysphoria is?
I realise the majority of transsexual women do not wish to use their genitals for sex (penetration) and that many are desperate for lower surgery, but surly there must also be some trans women who don’t desire to have that particular operation. This doesn’t mean they aren’t therefore transsexual women just because they keep their penis.
Trans men and trans women both agree that genitals don’t determine gender identity to begin with, so the presence of a penis or not does not affect your true gender. Surgery is only necessary to cure dysphoria and ease suffering to the inflicted person with transsexualism.
I just don’t understand how people can say that just because a woman keeps her penis she isn’t really a transsexual woman and certainly not if she enjoys using her penis for sex.
Transsexual men don’t have these issues. Genitals are just genitals at the end of the day.
@PJ it’s always amusing how you manage to be offensive to all the trans men and women in this section, even when they are asking a legitimate question. For a start i’m a transsexual male and no other transsexual women here are offended (apart from probably PJ) Your answer has some obvious flaws like gender roles being one of the major ones for example. Penetrating your partner isn’t a "male" act at all. There are lesbian women who penetrate their partners and there are also heterosexual women who will penetrate a man. Penetration has nothing to do with being a man or woman, it’s just a sexual act. Furthermore gender roles are ridiculous and are extremely different from gender identities. You seem to be implying they are one in the same.
For example 40 years ago it was a womans role to stay home and look after the kids while the husband went to work. Gender roles are stupid and have nothing to do with actual gender identity.
I also never used the term "she-male" like you have just done. I would never refer to any woman as a "she-male" it’s a disgusting offensive term.Try reading the actual question next time

not every “she-male” porn star is a gay male, but the majority of them are, the transsexuals that are involved with porn industry generally speaking can not use their genitals for much more than urinating.
the other point to that, is that there’s an awful lot of people out there that automatically equate a transsexual woman with any one of the stereotypically created images from porn or drag queens. and thus we often exaggerate fighting against those pornographically created images. “Wow, you must have best of both worlds” with any number of different phrases..

whereas I’m personally nothing like any one of the stereotypes.. here I am a boring mom, who’s a former aerospace engineer, and now I’m active in my local community by volunteering for the burial of land management, and one of the local food pantries.
plus, I’m a field technician under Unisys and Law Student.. I know of some of the clubs/bars in the area but have never been to drag show, or other adult entertainment venues.

I agree with you for one reason. If my genitals were magically erased, or aliens stole me and replaced my girl parts with boy parts, that’s not going to make me a dude. I don’t care if cruel super science gave me cock and balls, I’m a girl. Me being a woman doesn’t entirely depend on me having a vagina. It’s about more than what’s in my pants.
Yes, perhaps having boy junk would alter my hormonal state and I would feel more like a guy, but I’m a woman now, and I wouldn’t forget what that was like afterward, and how correct it feels to call myself female. I would just be a poor sad chick with an evil science wiener, trying to cope. I doubt I would trade a fully working penis for an approximation of a vagina that might not be as sensitive. I don’t blame any TG woman for not having genital reconstruction. I can imagine being a girl with a penis, even if I wasn’t crazy about it, because I don’t think I need a vagina to be a woman. I would miss my vadge, but I’m not committing suicide if I can’t have one.
People get caught up in defending themselves during transition…. often to the exclusion of other trans people. And some sad sacks continue this behavior even after transition (you know who). I bet if you were to ask these same people this question a couple years from now you’d find they would have mellowed out, become more secure in the identities.
The porn actors who are really gay men are easy to spot. They are the ones that look like they have had breast augmentation and maybe a little cosmetic face surgery. However, they have a fully functioning penis and rarely work on feminizing their voice.
After being on estrogen therapy for a few months, the genitals start to atrophy. This is often a dead give away.

If someone says "Im transsexual" they’re 99% of the time transsexual. If someone says "I’m not transsexual" they’re 99% of the time not transsexual. Its VERY rarely anyone’s place to question someone else’s gender.
