I Don’t Like Pink

Why I really don’t like pink. Pink is the colour of little girls and homosexual men. While I don’t have anything against either little girls or homosexual men I am not one of them. Pink is also the colour of breast cancer awareness. How can caring people be so uncaring as to choose the definitively girlie colour to represent breast cancer as if it was something that only affected women? This annoyed me even before I had tests to see if I had the disease. Men get breast cancer too and on top of the disease they have to cope with wall-to-wall pink, literally, in hospitals. While I was young to be diagnosed with male breast cancer (typically ten years later than in women) I had a small hard lump and I had a bout of mumps a couple of years before and an increased risk of breast cancer is associated with that disease. As it turned out the lump was nothing to be concerned with but what was annoying me most about the prospect of having breast cancer was all the pink ribbons and pink wristbands. Pink is so not my colour. 99% of breast cancer occurs in women but please don’t forget that men can develop it too and consider their feelings. Breast cancer is an issue for people, not just women.

    That’s my point.
As long as little girls wear nothing but pink it can never be a normal colour.

  2. isolatedoddball says:

Girls don’t think it’s unacceptable to go out not wearing pink. They do it if they damn well please to do so. Should we tell guys to stop wearing ugly shirts because girls don’t like them?

  3. isolatedoddball says:

Yes, because half the world population qualifies as ”the other,” and you clearly associate femininity with inferiority. That’s pretty hypocritical of a ”humanitarian” atheist type.

  4. isolatedoddball says:

That probably ain’t gonna happen as long as things women and gay guys like are automatically marginalized.

  5. MartinJWillett says:

I can see what you are trying to say but you’re wrong. There are limits to my willingness to create consensus.

  6. MartinJWillett says:

Get off the soapbox, please, you’re embarrassing yourself. I don’t associate female with inferior, I just am male and I don’t want people to think I am a woman, or gay. I would not wear all pink clothes for the same reason I wouldn’t wear a Chelsea shirt, a Navy uniform, a turban or carry a Belgian flag: I am not what those things represent. That doesn’t mean I disrespect the Navy or want to load Belgians into gas chambers..

    I HATE PINK!

  8. CpsLock3 says:

pink back in the 50′s was a word for communist now to this day it still is thanks to femminists.

  9. Boojispud says:

I like pink. And I’m straight. I think it’s interesting how society has made certain reflections of light gender specific. Apparently, we can make anything gender specific.

  10. hulloooooh says:

    REAL men don’t like pink.

If you are a man and like pink, you have no dick and are walked on by women (NOT A MAN)….OR you are gay (NOT A MAN)….therefore, all REAL men agree with He-Man MartinJWillett and don’t like pink!

  11. VJDTropical says:

Pink is a cute colour but it should not be worn by men at ALL
I HATE hyper masculine or ultra macho macho men BUT I also DESPISE effimate men

    I prefer balanced masculine men
And pink is WAY too much for guys

Light green and light blue are BEAUTIFUL colours for guys if they love light colours

    Pink ? Nope
But women should not wear pink ALL of the time
    Be a balanced feminine woman

  12. VJDTropical says:

@isolatedoddball – lol at the atheist ”humanitarian” type
I agree with your comment somewhat

  13. VJDTropical says:

    Women should wear pink occasionally
Men should wear pink rarely or not at all

Men should go for light green or light blue instead

  14. VJDTropical says:

No offense but most females want balanced masculine dudes

Too macho or too effimate out
    Sorry

Wear light blue or light green instead =)
White or yellow would be nice too

  15. Boojispud says:

I don’t wear pink; I just like it. But that’s my point: our society has dictated that pink is effeminate when, really, shouldn’t color be gender neutral? If everybody wore pink, after a few generations it would not matter at all.

  16. Boojispud says:

@VJDTropical Also, I’m not concerned with “what most females want.” If someone were to not date me because of the color clothes I wear, it’s not the type of person I would want to date. And just because you “despise” effeminate men does not mean everybody does and others should change their personality to fit what you like.

  17. VJDTropical says:

@Boojispud – Actually most straight females don’t like them … I’m being open about it to you personally … problem is that most of us don’t want to tell you to your face but it’s true … most of us want balanced masculine guys … not effimate but not too macho macho

  18. mastermrt says:

I love how you talk so much about how men don’t want to wear gay pink but then use the world “fabulous” to describe how a man looks.

    Genius!

  19. MartinJWillett says:

@mastermrt I used fabulous to describe how a woman looks and a gay man.

  20. PlanetVerdia says:

Pink as a color doesn’t have anything to do with what society made it represent. If someone takes color orange and makes a shiny-screaming-orange logo, that represents WAR and killing, in less than a year the whole planet is gonna make videos about hating this color. Seriously. Pink for girls, blue for boys doesn’t work for all countries. In Russia, for example, infant girls are dressed in blue and green, not always pink. Pink is just a color, you don’t hate it, you hate what it represents.

  21. imnotabear says:

Pink is just a color – get over it. I’m straight but i used to have a pink car – it was a classic original and I was proud to drive it.

  22. MartinJWillett says:

@imnotabear Of course you’re straight, that’s why you have a user name which tells everybody that you’re straight. ;-)

  23. imnotabear says:

@MartinJWillett hehe, my ID has nothing to do with hairy gay men lol it came from an online game where my toon could morph into a big hairy bear when he wanted to take a dump in the woods or something

  24. tuoniz says:

    vagina’s are pink

  25. MartinJWillett says:

    @tuoniz and knobheads.
