I Am Scheduled to Have Outpatient Surgery, if My Last Use of Pot Was 3 Weeks Before This What Are the Risks?

I’m having gynecomastia, male breast reduction surgery, on June 1st and last smoked marijuana May 7th, will this have an adverse effect on the anesthesia or recovery?

  1. Pangolin says:

You will probably have a reactive airway form the smoking, and may have a higher tolerance for the anesthetic drugs.

Tell your anesthesiologist. He/she can use that information to help give you the best and safest anesthetic.

Nothing to worry about, though, as long as you are honest about it.
