Can I Get My Health Insurance to Pay for My Gynecomastia/mastectomy Surgery?

I developed breast tissue after taking several different prescribed antidepressants years (which didn’t work, by the way). I went to a endocrinologist and he said I may be able to get the insurance to pay for it. I want to get it taken care of because I feel self conscious.

Try this one – http://healthplans.bebto.com – my family have their health insurance – it is affordable and has good coverage.
My wife had no problem with her insurance coverage wth such issues.

If you are backed up by the endocrinologist i suppose the health insurance will cover it:it is not because you are overweight but got it as side effect from pills that were subscribed to you.
Have a talk with the insurance people first. Then you know for sure

It depends on your insurance policy and what they consider cosmetic vs medical. If the surgery was considered cosmetic, most insurances companies won’t pay for it. But because of your situation it might count as a medical procedure.

You should really talk to your insurance agent to be sure though. And have him sit down with you with your insurance plan in writting and have him explain it to you and why your situation would or would not be covered by it.

You will have to check with them, but if there is a medical necessaity for it and it is not mere cosmetic surgery, they will cover.
